Kuala Lumpur: After the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) was informed that Lee Chong Wei’s doping case hearing has been scheduled at Dec 8 in Amsterdam, Mike Morgan, the sports lawyer hired by BAM to represent Lee has requested Badminton World Federation (BWF) to adjourn the hearing to a later date.
Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said this was due to Chong Wei’s counsel needed more time to obtain evidence in order to present his case in more detail. BWF is expected to announce the new hearing date sometime this week.
Malaysia’s world No1 Lee Chong Wei has been provisionally suspended by BWF after he was tested positive for dexamethasone during a doping test at the World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Aug 30.
Please help spread the word and sign this petition, to convince BWF that we and the sport of Badminton need Lee Chong Wei, thanks a lot!
