Sepang: National Sports Institute (ISN) chief executive officer Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz urged everyone, including Lee Chong Wei to brace for the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Panel Hearing.
Dr Ramlan who returned from Oslo, Norway after accompanying Chong Wei to witness the procedures carried out to test Chong Wei’s B Sample at the Universiti Oslo Hospital in Norway on Tuesday said the result was not out yet.
“Positively speaking it’s the same sample and the same test. You’re not possibly expecting a different result…basically, that’s more or less for the conclusion,” he said after arriving at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport yesterday.
Therefore, Chong Wei and all the relevant parties involved must prepare for the BWF’s procedures and hearing.
Dr Ramlan arrived with Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) general manager Kenny Goh but Chong Wei was not with them upon arrival.
Chong Wei, the country’s badminton icon and world number one, was reported to have failed a random dope test during the World Badminton Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark in August.
Chong Wei was implicated in the doping scandal after traces of dexamethasone were reportedly found in his urine (A Sample) during the random test conducted at the World Championships.
When asked about the B sample test on Friday, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said there was no news yet on the result.
