Kuala Lumpur: Badminton super star Lee Chong Wei made a surprise visit to flooded areas around Kuala Kangsar and Ipoh,Perak on Tuesday.
The badminton icon met with many people whose lives have been devastated by the floods, he also donated some flood relief supplies to the victims, and hoped his present could help brighten those who were in distress.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the flood victims.”
“I am trying to do the best I can to help the flood victims. I really hope I can help them in whatever form that may be.”
“It’s rewarding and inspiring just to see the flood victims showed their grateful appreciation by smiling at you when they’re up against this devastating situation.”
A flood relief staff member was excited and overwhelmed by Lee Chong Wei’s visit.
“His presence was a real delight for those who work here. His visit has certainly brightened many faces of the victims here,” said the flood relief staff member.
Lee Chong Wei also appealed to the international community on his official Facebook page to provide aid needed to help Malaysia recover from its worst flooding in decades.
