BWF have until this Friday to decide if they are willing to give Lee Chong Wei the wild card.

Meanwhile, former world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei has expressed confidence that the Malaysia’s Sudirman Cup team will give a commendable performance in Dongguan, China from May 10-17. Lee gave his full support to BAM’s technical director Morten Frost Hansen regarding the players Frost has selected to represent Malaysia.

“Young player such as Cheam June Wei is going to benefit from being exposed to high level of competition at the Sudirman Cup, and hopefully one day he could develop himself to become an outstanding player too,” said Chong Wei.

Malaysia has been drawn into Group 1D at the Sudirman Cup, and should expect tough challenge from India and South Korea. However, Lee Chong Wei remained optimistic that Malaysia would at least make it to the quarter-final stage.
