Hong Kong: Malaysian World No. 10 women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan fell short in the final of the Hong Kong Open, losing 21-14, 22-24, 9-21 to the Indonesian pair of Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Tan/Muralitharan were aiming for their first title of the year, but they were unable to overcome the Indonesians.
In addition to losing the match, Tan also injured her ankle in the final game when they were trailing 6-18 due to the slippery conditions on the court.

The men’s doubles final saw Denmark’s Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen win the Hong Kong Open title, defeating the Indonesian pair of Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin 21-10, 22-24, 21-19.

The Danish duo was in excellent form throughout the tournament, and they were able to hold off the Indonesians in the final despite a spirited comeback attempt by Carnando/Marthin.
Meanwhile, China’s Guo Xinwa/Wei Yaxin won the mixed doubles title, defeating the Hong Kong pair of Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet 21-13, 21-19.
Guo and Wei were playing in their first tournament together, but they showed great chemistry and teamwork. They were able to control the tempo of the match and defeat the Hong Kong pair in two straight games.
