Kuala Lumpur: The mystery of who will be Goh Liu Ying’s new mixed doubles partner has been solved. Goh and Chan Peng Soon officially ended their 13-year partnership on Dec 6, 2021, and she announced on Monday that the current World No. 11 men’s doubles player – Ong Yew Sin will be her new mixed doubles partner.

Goh and Ong have registered for the upcoming German Open (March 8 to March 13) and the All England Championships (March 16 to March 20).

The 32-year-old Rio Olympics mixed doubles silver medalist told The Star that she was excited to start a new chapter of her badminton career with Ong.

“I have been partnering Peng Soon for a long time. But now, Yew Sin and I will work hard to make a name for ourselves. It’s not easy, but let’s see how it turns out,” said Goh.

Meanwhile, Ong wrote on his social media that he would still be playing men’s doubles with Teo Ee Yi. For now, he would be competing in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles events.
