The former World No. 1 men’s doubles pair from Denmark defeated China’s Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen who were also ranked World No. 1 for one week 3 weeks ago with a decisive 21-13, 21-14 victory in 41 minutes.

“Obviously it feels awesome, we’ve been struggling a little bit at the All England and India Open, and to win in Singapore is just amazing,” said Mathias Boe after the match.

When asked about the key to maintaining their performance throughout the tournament, Carsten Mogensen admitted they have to play smarter.

“We are quite old, but our legs were moving quite fast today, that really help,” said Mogensen.

In the all-Indian men’s singles final,  Sai Praneeth won the first Superseries title of his career when he overcame teammate Kidambi Srikanth 17-21, 21-17, 21-12 to capture the Singapore Open. It was 24-year-old’s fifth victory in six meetings against Srikanth.

“I got off to a slow start, but I did not give up and this is the best feeling,” said Praneeth.
