Seoul: Former World No. 1 men’s doubles player and the 2008 Beijing Olympic mixed doubles gold medalist Lee Yong-dae and his wife who is also an actress Byun Soo-mi have welcomed a tiny new addition to their family: Byun gave birth to a baby girl, their first child, on Monday!
Lee and Byun have been dating since 2012, told the media in February that they will tie the knot in a private wedding ceremony, but the exact date and location are still unknown.
The South Korean badminton player announced his retirement from the Korean national team following his exit in men’s doubles competition at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Games last year.
Since then, Lee has been playing at professional badminton leagues in Malaysia and China. While enjoying an easy life-style after 13-years with the Korean national team, the men’s doubles ace is considering making a comeback at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
