Beijing: Chen Long who played for Qingdao in the 2016/2017 season of China Badminton Super League (CBSL) scored a 21-14, 21-14 against Tian Houwei of Xiamen, lifted his current team to a victory 3-2 win over his former team Xiamen on Saturday.
Ko Sung-Hyun/Lee Hyo-Jung of Qingdao got off to a bad start when they were denied by Xiamen’s Liu Cheng/Li Yinhui in the mixed doubles match that lasted 34 minutes.
After losing the first match, Qingdao’s Hui Xi Rui lived up to expectation by securing an 18-21, 21-12, 21-18 win against He Bingjiao of Xiamen in the women’s singles match to even the tie at 1-1.
In the men’s doubles match that followed, Hong Wei/He Jiting needed 36 minutes dispatched Qingdao’s Zhang Nan/Guo Yu Chen 21-17,21-14 to give a 2-1 advantage for Xiamen before Chen Long brought Qingdao back into the tie by crushing Tian Houwei in the men’s singles match.
Xiamen’s team Tang Yuan / Huang Dongping had no chance against the former World No.1 Luo Ying/Luo Yu in the women’s doubles match, where the Luo sisters were playing with extraordinary speed and agility and easily took the match away from the Tang/Huang. In the end, the Luo sisters sealed the match 21-11, 21-13 to clinch the victory for Qingdao with 3-2.
In other tie that took place on Saturday, Lin Dan who defeated Chen Long two days ago didn’t play for his team Guangzhou Heyuan when Guangzhou suffered their fifth straight loss of the season by going down to Zhejiang 1-4.
