Kuala Lumpur: There was only one slight change in the top 10 Badminton World Federation (BWF) men’s singles rankings over the past week, with World No. 10 Kidambi Srikanth fell to No. 13th, hence allowing Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark to move up one spot from No. 11 to No. 10.
However, there were no changes to the top 9, as Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia remains the clear World No. 1 with 91773 points. World No. 2 Chen Long of China was 4789 points behind, followed by Lin Dan of China.
The top 10 of women’s singles remained unchanged, with Carolina Marin, Li Xuerui, Nozomi Okuhara rounded out the top 3.
Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong of Korea remained the World No. 1 men’s doubles pair, although they could not win the Olympic gold medal in Rio. On the other hand, Olympic gold medalists Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan of China stayed in No. 2 followed by Kim Gi Jung/Kim Sa Rang in the third.
Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi of Japan, Tang Yuanting/Yu Yang of China and Jung Kyung Eun/Shin Seung Chan of Korea were the top three women’s doubles pairs, while Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei of China, Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na of Korea, and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia were the three best mixed doubles pairs in the world.
