It was Tee Jing Yi who came to the rescue and calmed things down for Kepong BC after winning 3-0 against the world junior runner-up Lee Ying Ying.
Hendra Aprida Gunawan/Li Mei Qi then won the mixed doubles match by beating Tan Jinn Hwa/ Amelia Alicia Anscelly to give Kepong a 7-4 lead.
Kepong BC took an unassailable 10-4 lead after Andrei Adistia/Low Juan Sheng stormed to a 3-0 victory against Tan Kien Meng/Chong Yee Han of Nusajaya.
Although Goh Soon Huat of Nusajaya managed to dispatch Panji Akbar Sudrajat 3-0 in the second men’s singles match, but his victory came too late to be of any help in Nusajaya. Kepong ranked No.7 after their wins on Monday.
In a different tie that was held early Monday, Serdang BC dismissed the second worst team in the league Bangsar Hawks to momentarily keep their razor-thin Champions Challenge hopes alive.
Since only the top eight teams could qualify for the Champions Challenge, the currently No. 6-ranked Serdang have two tough ties and one relatively tie await them before the end of the regular season. Serdang will face No. 7 Kepong BC on January 3rd 2016, No. 3 Petaling Jaya BC on January 7th 2016, and against the worst team in the league Kajang BC on January 8th 2016.
