Kuala Lumpur: The last Legends’ Vision event of the year was a hugely successful event with about 2000 people showed up and pretty much filled up the Kuala Lumpur Badminton (KLBA) Stadium in Cheras on Tuesday.
Even though two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan couldn’t make it to the event due to injury, Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat and Peter Gade gave the crowd an unforgettable day by playing each other in several wildly entertaining exhibition matches.
Lee Chong Wei, Taufik Hidayat, and Peter Gade kicked off the afternoon by conducting a coaching clinic for group of young badminton fans.
The highlight of the day came when the three legends teamed up to play three-on-three against Koo Kien Keat, Tan Boon Heong and Rexy Mainaky. There were plenty of excitement, trash talking and shuttlecocks, yes, there were 3 shuttlecocks flying across the court at one point.
The most heartwarming moment of the Legends’ Vision belonged to Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo when the husband and wife pair played mixed doubles against Taufik Hidayat and World Junior Championships silver medalist Lee Ying Ying.
A birthday cake was also presented at the event to celebrate Peter Gade’s 39th birthday.
