After escaping a nerve-wracking semi-final scare against Japan on Saturday, which ended with a 3-2 victory in favor of China, the great wall of badminton was clearly paying full attention to Indonesia in the final. Indonesia have proved formidable to other teams when they were in sparkling form of their 3-1 victory over Chinese Taipei in the semi-final.

Chen Qingchen and Zheng Siwei of China got off to a good start on Sunday to give China a 1-0 lead when they defeated Marsheille Gischa Islami and Andika Ramadiansyah 21-10, 21-14 in the mixed doubles match.

Despite their semi-final loss to Kenya Mitsuhashi/Yuta Watanabe of Japan, Chinese head coach remained confident on He Jiting and Zheng Siwei, and it paid off. “We are very happy to win this championships, we have great respect for the Indonesian team. Our players played much better in the final compare to our performance in the semi-finals,” China’s team manager Lu Sida told reporters after the tie.
