Kuala Lumpur: There’s bad. Then there’s the worst loss ever.
Sunday was a “tragic day” for Kajang BC, when the No. 1 ranked team in the Malaysia Purple League, Nusajaya BC handed Kajang BC their worst loss ever, defeating the No. 12 ranked team 15-1 this weekend.
Except for Tan Teck Han who won the first men’s singles match against Muhammad Iqram Maula Azman with 3-1, Nusajaya BC’s Julia Wong Pei Xian, Tan Kien Meng/ Cheah Yee See, Hoon Thien How/Teo Kok Siang, and Boonsak Ponsana all won their matches with 3-0.
The victory was Nusajaya’s second big win, they produced their first win of the season when they defeated Petaling Jaya BC 11-8 on November 4th.
After they were crushed 3-15 by defending champions Muar City on Friday, Kepong BC avoided another defeat on Sunday when Wei Nan delivered a timely 3-1 win to seal Kepong BC’s victory against Petaling BC in their second tie of the season.
The defending champions were looking to lay down a marker early in the season, when Muar City showed their strength and handed an early title warning to other opponents as they claimed a one-sided 14-9 victory against Petaling Jaya BC in a tie that was held at Sports Arena Sentosa Sunday night.
