Kuala Lumpur: There wasn’t much movement atop the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, with Chen Long, Saina Nehwal, Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong, Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi and Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei holding their places as world No. 1 in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles respectively. For such a small body, Goh Jin Wei has a strong badminton instinct.

The biggest move inside the women’s singles top 200 came from Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei who climbed 39 spots to world No. 144. The 15-year-old shuttler who scooped up 2015 Belgian International on September 12 and Vietnam International Series titles on October fourth handed a much needed morale-boost for the Malaysian team as they are in search of best and brightest young talent in badminton.

Inside the men’s doubles top 50, Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong who reached the Thailand Open final last Sunday, zoomed up the charts from 41 to 31. If Koo/Tan can consistently produce good results, they have good chance to overtake World No. 14 Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong as Malaysia’s highest ranked pair in BWF rankings.

Former World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei dropped one spot to 25 in men’s singles.
