Jinjiang: As they beef up their preparation for next week’s Chinese Taipei Open at Jinjiang, Fujian province of China, the Chinese National Badminton Team continued its “Giving Back to the Community” spirit, by visiting an orphanage in Jinjiang on Tuesday.The Chinese badminton team take photos of themselves with the children.

 

Led by head coach of Chinese badminton team Li Yongbo, the Chinese badminton players were able to interact with the children and those Chinese shuttlers were hoping society could provide more care and support to those orphaned and vulnerable children.Li Yongbo gives the kids a high five

“Life is certainly not easy for many of the children here, the right community support for these children is critical,” said coach Li.

The London men’s doubles gold medalists Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng also expressed support and applauded their teammates’ efforts to care for orphans.Fu Haifeng (blue striped shirts) and Yu Yang donate badminton rackets to the children.

“It’s sad to see these kids growing up this way, we are raising awareness for them and hopefully they could get some more helps from the society.”

The team has also made a RMB 150,000 donation to the orphanage home.
