Singapore: Lee Chong Wei made wish come true for a young fan who is battling cancer in Singapore.
Joven Hsieh, who is fighting brain cancer, made a request to meet badminton superstar during the Malaysia men’s team competition at the SEA Games.
Believe it or not, Joven got more than just a chat with the former world No. 1 on Thursday. Lee Chong Wei also gave Joven a badminton racquet.
Chong Wei hung out with Joven who came to the National Indoor Stadium sitting in a wheelchair to watch him played against Firman Abdul Kholik in the men’s team semifinal against Indonesia.
“I was informed by Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria that a fan has left the hospital temporarily to come to see me. I approached and greeted Joven immediately after my match,” said Chong Wei.
“I also gave him the racquet I used in the match against Indonesia, and I’ve asked him to stay positive and to stay strong,” added Chong Wei.
