London: As Chris Adcock turns his attentions to the biggest prize of all, the badminton ace admits it is the small margins he will be emphasising on the Road to Rio.
After topping the pile alongside mixed doubles partner and wife Gabby at last year’s Commonwealth Games, Adcock has found success harder to come by so far in 2015.
It is not for the lack of effort though, the world number seven pairing only falling to duos that are seeded higher than them in the standings.
Adcock will be hoping to change all that next month as he travels to Jakarta for the Indonesia Open.
And with crucial Rio Olympic qualification points up for grabs, the 26-year-old is determined to finally get one over the favourites as he turns his attentions to Brazil.
“It’s been a tough season and we’ve come up against some good players,” he said. “We’ve beaten everyone below us but with the top pairs, we’ve lost some really close three setters.
“We just can’t seem to get over the line, but saying that we’re improving every time.
“It’s just fine margins. We’ve shown we have beaten the top players so we just need to do it on a regular basis.
