Kuching: Rashid Sidek was re-appointed as the singles chief coach of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), again, just two weeks after he was dropped from that same position when BAM announced a reshuffle of its coaching structure early this year.
That decision was made by BAM in a council meeting held on last Saturday.
When asked about this issue, Rashid Sidek who met with Morten Frost at the Malaysia Masters in Kuching said his current focus is to lead the singles players until Morten Frost officially start his job as BAM’s technical director in March.
“I spoke to Morten Frost in Kuching, we had a very open and a very constructive conversation about badminton in Malaysia.”
In the BAM council meeting, council members also discussed the possibility of bringing back the coaching and training (CNT) committee set up that was replaced by functional groups when Tengku Mahaleel became president of BAM. Tengku Mahaleel told reporters that they will reexamine this topic at the next council meeting.
