Jeonju City: Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin advanced to the men’s singles quarter-final of Korean GP by defeating fellow Malaysian Goh Soon Huat 21-17, 21-11 in 40 minutes on Thursday. He will clash with South Korean Yim Jong-woo in the next round. In men’s doubles, scratch pair Lim Khim Wah-Ow Yao Han of Malaysia fought back from a set down to tame South Korean Chung Eui Seok-Lee Sang Joon 21-19, 16-21, 21-14 in 58 minutes. They will take on reigning men’s doubles world champion, the 2nd seeds Ko Sung-hyun-Shin baek-cheol in quarter-final.

Another Malaysian scratch pair, Vivian Hoo-Ng Hui Lin continued their impressive run in women’s doubles department to send Choi Yoon Jung-Han Yong Joo of South Korea packing 21-12, 21-15 in 33 minutes, they will meet Japanese Yuki Fukushima-Sayaka Hirata next.

Wong Fai Yin and Chow Mei Kuan powered past their mixed doubles Taiwanese opponents on Thursday, and will fight 6th seeds Choi Sol-kyu-Shin Seung-chan of South Korea for a spot in the semi-finals.
