Sapporo: After competing in several back-to-back tournaments since June, Viktor Axelsen, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Ratchanok Intanon, and Wakana Nagahara seemed to have fun and some relaxation as they attended promotional events organized by their sponsor, YONEX, in Niigata, Japan.
Axelsen uploaded a video to his Instagram on Tuesday that showed him having a great time playing 1 versus 2 against the World No. 1 men’s pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

In the video, the world number one men’s singles player from Denmark was seen defending against fast attacks from “the Minions” and it ended with a smash from Axelsen towards Gideon.
However, some fans were not paying too much attention to the video, instead, they were making fun of Axelsen who stands at 1.94 cm that the distance between his two legs was the same as Gideon and Sukamuljo’s court positions.
“Bro, the distance between the legs is as wide as the minions,” wrote one of their followers.
“One Viktor Axelsen is equivalent to an MD,” wrote another badminton fan.
