Indra Wijaya To Become Lee Zii Jia’s Coach

Kuala Lumpur: The World No. 7 men’s singles player – Lee Zii Jia, has hired Indra Wijaya to become his coach as he continued his badminton career as a professional player.

Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker revealed the news on Tuesday, and he also said that Malaysia’s Sports Commissioner – Ibrahim Mohd Yusof has approved Lee Zii Jia’s request to set up the Lee Zii Jia Badminton Club.

“Indra Wijaya can become Zii Jia’s coach as his contract with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) ends on March 31,” said Ti.

“My office will help Zii Jia to work on the registration process, work permit, and immigration requirements. Best wishes to Zii Jia and the newly established Lee Zii Jia Badminton Club,” said Ti on his Facebook page.

Wijaya who is currently still working as BAM’s women’s singles coach, started with BAM in 2015 and had previously taken on the job as a men’s singles assistant coach.

The Indonesian was instrumental in helping Indonesia win the 1998 Thomas Cup title.
