Beijing: In January of 2022, the chairman of the Chinese Badminton Association – Zhang Jun, re-shuffled the China badminton team line-up, wanting to get the squad ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He tried to build different combinations in the doubles departments by splitting up the World No. 2 mixed doubles pair – Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, while the partnership of Tokyo Olympics mixed doubles champions – Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping remained intact.

Zheng was assigned a new partner – Zhang Shuxian, while Huang Yaqiong was being paired with Ou Xuanyi.

Zheng and Huang will play with their new partners respectively at the German Open, in Mulheim, Germany, from March 8 to March 13.

However, according to the players’ list published by the Badminton World Federation on Friday, the former World No. 1 mixed doubles pair will be reunited at 2022 All England, a BWF World Tour Super 1000 event held in Birmingham, England from March 16 to March 20.
