Bali: Losing in the final of the 2021 Indonesia Masters did not affect the World No. 3, Anders Antonsen of Denmark, from enjoying the beautiful scenery in Bali.

Antonsen was defeated by World No. 1 Kento Momota of Japan 17-21, 11-21 in the Indonesia Masters final on Sunday.

“Overall it was a good tournament, I played five pretty good matches. But I was a bit disappointed with yesterday’s final, I was actually hoping to push Kento more. I’m looking forward to the next championship,” Antonsen said at the Bali International Convention Center on Monday.

The 24-year-old Dane has been enjoying authentic Indonesian food, traditional clothes, and co-hosting his YouTube channel together with Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus to interview Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia and Lee Zii Jia from Malaysia in Bali.

Antonsen who is currently ranked No. 17 at the BWF World Tour Finals rankings, may have a chance to stay in Bali for another two weeks if he could qualify for the BWF World Tour Finals.

“I like competition, but I may feel tired if I have nothing to do,” added Antonsen.

“I try not to spend too much time in the pool, I only go there after the game. But I don’t think it’s difficult to stay focused here, it can be a bit too relaxed here. So far the situation is good because the most important thing is to compete here,” explained Antonsen.

The Danish player will open against Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand on Wednesday. He may play Anthony Sinisuka Ginting or the Tokyo Olympics champion Viktor Axelsen in the semi-finals.
