Kuala Lumpur: Choong Hon Jian/Toh Ee Wei promised they would keep their feet on the ground after winning three consecutive titles in Europe this year – the 2021 Austrian Open, Slovenia International, and Polish Open.
Both 20-year-old players were aware that there’s still a long road ahead, and they’ll need to continue working hard to produce success at a higher level.
“I would like to thank the coaches Paulus (Firman), Teo Kok Siang, Wong Choong Hann – the coaching director of the Malaysian Badminton Association (BAM) and BAM for allowing us to compete in mixed doubles events and also the opportunity to participate in many tournaments,” said Toh.
“We will continue to remain humble and work hard to prepare for the next tournament,” added Toh.
Meanwhile, Choong Hon Jian told Malaysian media that the key to their success was to support each other, especially when they were competing on the court.
“Thank you to the coaches and seniors who had helped us a lot. When we return to Malaysia, we will continue to work harder to get ready for the next tournament,” said Choong.
