Jakarta: If the Japanese team was the happiest squad in 2021 All England by winning four out of five titles, then, the Indonesia team would be the most disappointing in the 2021 All England.

The whole Indonesian team was forced to withdraw from the 2021 All England last Wednesday after a person on their flight to Britain was tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the regulations published by the UK’s NHS (National Health Service), the whole team was originally asked to undergo a 10-day self-isolation period inside their hotel until March 23.

However, After a diplomatic appeal and negotiation by the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK about the Indonesian team’s self-quarantine duration, the whole team got permission to return home early and didn’t have to wait until March 23, 2021. All members flew back from Birmingham on Sunday (March 21, 2021) UK time.

It was reported that the Indonesian team faced discriminatory treatment after being forced to pull out of the All England tournament. They said that they were not allowed to use facilities and transportation from the hotel such as buses and elevators.

Upon their arrival at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Monday night Indonesia time, in Tangerang, Indonesia, all athletes were immediately led to a separate room to undergo a medical test.

The Indonesian Olympic Committee has officially filed a complaint against Badminton World Federation (BWF) to The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to demand justice for the Indonesian badminton team which they thought was unfairly dismissed from 2021 All England.

Two official Yonex All England official Instagram accounts were also down following a wave of Indonesian fans attacking those accounts.
