Tokyo: World No. 1 men’s singles player Kento Momota has been presented with a certificate from the Guinness World Records that confirmed his record-breaking achievement in 2019 where he won a total of 11 titles in a single season.

Before Momota’s stellar 2019 season, it was Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei who won the most title in a single season with 10 titles in 2010.

The Guinness World Records given to Momota has the following message:

“The most badminton men’s singles titles in a season is 11 achieved by Kento Momota (Japan) between 3 March and 15 December 2019.”

Kento Momota also took to his social media pages to express his appreciation to the Guinness World Records:

“I am very honored to receive the Guinness World Records. Thanks to the support of people around me. I will do my best every day trying to break this record again. Thank you for your continued support!”
