Kuala Lumpur: Lee Chong Wei is best known for being a badminton legend and superstar, but he has a hidden talent many badminton fans do not know about, as he is apparently a very good basketball player.
In a video he uploaded to his Facebook on Saturday, Lee was playing basketball with his friends. He was in pretty good shooting form, able to find a good spot for himself on the floor and really handled the ball well.
He also posted message below together with the video:
“I had to choose between basket ball or badminton while I was madly in love with both of them back in elementary school. After more than 25 years, I still got it! 😎”
Lee is one of the greatest badminton players of all-time. Lee has won a total of sixty-nine Badminton World Federation (BWF) singles titles including a record 42 BWF Super Series singles titles, and a record 4 BWF Super Series Finals. He held the World No.1 ranking for a total of 348 weeks (6 years and 8 months, from 2000 to 2019) and has won three Olympic silver medals.
He was diagnosed with early-stage nose cancer in 2018 and opted to retire in 2019 for the sake of his health.
