Chengdu: Zheng Siwei/Liu Yuchen have taken Qingdao to its seventh straight winning streaks in the 2020 China Badminton Super League (CBSL) with a 3-2 win over Zhejiang on Friday.
The two power smashers from Qingdao proved too strong for the Wang Sijie/Ye Yuanpeng of Zhejiang, securing a comfortable victory to start the tie for Qingdao with 11-6, 11-4, 11-9 in 17 minutes.
Qingdao’s World No. 16 women’s singles player Wang Zhi Yi blew away Lu Xue Zhou 11-4, 11-6, 11-7 to give her team a 2-0 lead, before World No. 2 mixed doubles pair Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping edged out Dong Wei Jie/Lin Xin of Zhejiang 11-1, 11-5, 11-7 at the Shuangliu Sports Centre, Sichuan National Badminton Training Base.
Even though Qingdao lost the next two matches, but the results won’t change the outcome of the tie.
Meanwhile, the Jiangsu Victor team still struggled to climb out of the bottom ranking as it suffered seventh straight days of losses when going down to Xiamen 2-3.
