Copenhagen: The 39-year-old men’s doubles legend from Denmark, Mathias Boe, who announced his retirement from Badminton on Thursday after a 20-year career playing for Denmark, made top 5 men’s doubles picks of his era.
The Frederikssund born player said that Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong of Malaysia, Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun of China, Lee Yong Dae/Jung Jae Sung and Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong of Korea, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon Indonesia were the toughest opponents during his illustrious career.

1. Fu/Cai no words really needed, they have won everything (several times) 🔥🔥
2. @leeyd88 /Jung (could have been Yoo also). I specially remember Olympic semi (2012), and final in Indonesia open same year, where is had to change shorts before third game😂🥵🙌🏻
3. @hendrasansan / @king.chayra as fu/Cai they have won everything (except Olympics ,AHSAN). Incredible in the “first 4”, skill from another planet and calm as a cucumber.⚔️😊🤘🏻
4. No list without these guys, insane power from Marcus and Kevin’s brilliance around the court, makes them unbeatable on their best days🏃😃.

Boe and his men’s doubles partner, Carsten Mogensen, were undoubtedly the best men’s doubles pair from Denmark in the last two decades, as they have won over 25 high-level tournaments, including silver medals at the 2012 Olympics and the 2013 World Championships. They also won the 2011 and 2015 All England as a pair. On the men’s team side, he was a member of the Denmark men’s team which won the 2016 Thomas Cup.
