Macau: South Korean Son Wan-Ho, who ruptured his left Achilles tendon during a match against Lee Hyun-Il on March 2019, will make a comeback at the Macau Open that will take place at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion Macau in Macau from 29 October to 3 November 2019 and offered a total prize of USD $150,000.
Despite being absent from international tournament for nearly eight months, the 31-year-old has been using the BWF protected ranking and was still ranked No. 6 in the world, which was the ranking he last held when he participated at the 2019 All England before getting injured.
“My main goal is to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. At the very least, I would like to end up in the top 16 position in the men’s singles,” said Son.

Shi had attempted to make a return mid-September at the China Open, but he was nowhere at his best as he defeated by compatriot Lu Guangzu 5-21, 9-21 in just 15 minutes.
After losing the first game 5-21, the referee called Shi Yuqi and Lu Guangzu to consult on some matters. Perhaps it was because there was no real competition between them on the court. Shi Yuqi then gave his own explanation but eventually was booed by the audience after his quick defeat to Lu.
