Kuala Lumpur: The president of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), Norza Zakaria urged Malaysian players to springs few surprises at next week’s World Championship that will take place in Basel, Switzerland.
He remained positive that Malaysian players have good opportunity to make history in Basel, bringing back Malaysia’s first world championships title.
“As we all know, Malaysia has yet to win a world championship title, our best achievements were reaching the finals,” said Zakaria.
Zakaria encouraged young players like Lee Zii Jia and Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik to pursue their dreams of winning the world title.
“The gaps between our men’s doubles, mixed doubles pairs and the world’s top five are very small, therefore, they should capitalize on this opportunity,” added Zakaria.
“Our players shouldn’t have the mindset thinking that young players will not be able to win the world title.”
