Barcelona: The No. 1 seed Viktor Axelsen and No. 3 seed Anders Antonsen will meet in the Barcelona Spain Masters men’s singles final at the Pavelló de la Vall d’Hebron on Sunday.

Axelsen breezed into the final after his opponent in the semi-final, Ren Pengbo of China handed him a walkover when Axelsen was leading 5-4 in the third set. The World No. 6 ultimately won the semi-final match 21-9, 17-21, 5-4.

Anders Antonsen has joined Axelsen in the final after he was pushed to the decider by Zhao Junpeng of China before taming the Chinese player 21-7, 9-21, 21-17 in 67 minutes.

In women’s singles, No. 2 seed Mia Blichfeldt and No. 4 seed Line HøJmark Kjaersfeldt have set up an all-Danish final on Sunday.

Blichfeldt was made to work by No. 3 seed Cai Yanyan of China before winning 21-16, 13-21, 21-13 in 61 minutes.

Meanwhile, Kjaersfeldt narrowly escaped a semi-final marathon to defeat No. 1 seed Han Yue of China 18-21, 21-15, 22-20 in 62 minutes.

The No. 5 seeds Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin of Taiwan and No. 8 seeds Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae will set up a men’s doubles showdown in Sunday’s final.
