Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s World No. 12 mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai who were teamed up on October 2016, due to Goh’s lack of performance in the men’s singles department and Lai had been without a partner since Wong Fai Xin quit in July of 2016, have quickly rise to prominence in just two years of their partnership.
One of their signature performance this year was when they won the 2018 Singapore Open mixed doubles title by beating the 2016 Olympic gold medalist Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in the final with straight-sets.
