Kuala Lumpur: Shortly after the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) announced last Saturday that the Malaysian badminton legend, Lee Chong Wei was diagnosed with early stage nose cancer, well wishes began pouring in from current and former badminton players, badminton fans and politicians.

Lee’s greatest nemesis on the badminton court, two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan, already told reporters during the Nanjing World Championships in August that badminton competition would be incomplete without Lee Chong Wei, and he hoped his “lifetime opponent” would recover soon.

“First of all, I wish Chong Wei a speedy recovery. It’s really not important anymore when he could return to the sport, instead, his health is the most important thing right now,” said Lin Dan.

Lee’s good friend, badminton legend from Indonesia and the 2004 Athens Olympics gold medalist, Taufik Hidayat also wished Lee a good recovery through his social media page below.
