Anaheim: The 2017 US Open will get underway on Wednesday, with Malaysia’s former World Junior champion Zulfadli Zulkiffli raring to play in Anaheim to warm up for the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland next month.

“So far my preparation is going pretty well. I have been improving my physical fitness and I’ve always focused and mentally motivated to get ready for the World Championships,” said the 24-year-old Zulkiffli.

Zulkiffli admitted the US Open is very important for him to his rhythm and coordination before Glasgow.

“I have great enthusiasm playing at the US Open and the World Championships, especially I just signed up with a new sponsor LiteForex from Russia. However, I can’t disclose the sponsorship amounts,” added Zulkiffli.

“The new sponsorship allows me to participate in tournaments until the end of this year, and they will re-evaluate our relationship in January next year,” said Zulkiffli.

Zulkiffli was seeded sixth in Anaheim and will face Austria’s Wolfgang Gnedt in the first round.
