Kuala Lumpur: With the 2017 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships in Glasgow – Scotland fast approaching, Malaysian badminton superstar Lee Chong Wei has been putting himself through a highly competitive training program prepared by his coach – Misbun Sidek.

“We don’t have much time left. I am going to design a special workout plan tailored to Chong Wei’s goals and needs,” said Sidek.

“Most importantly, I would like to prevent injuries prior to the World Championships,” added Sidek.

Despite just completed the intensive and grueling hours of practice introduced by Misbun Sidek, Lee Chong Wei was highly motivated by Sidek’s programs.

“As expected, Misbun’s coaching methods are both tough and intense. We have one or two players suffer from cramps every day,” said Lee.

“I’m enjoying Misbun’s training so far, because I need to continue to get better by pushing myself further,” said Lee.

Meanwhile, Lee also told reporters that he will be opening three “Lee Chong Wei Badminton Academy” in the state of Perak. The first of three will be launched in Ipoh on July 22.
